What does a session look like?

We start with you. Without judgment, your counsellor looks with you at what fits your reality: your smoking or vaping profile, your motivation, what triggers your cravings. Together, you build a realistic action plan. If it suits you, a prescription for covered quit aids is possible. You'll also cover stress management, healthy lifestyle habits and how to get through harder moments without relapse. If needed, you'll be directed to other CLSC resources.

Examples of topics covered:

  • Smoking or vaping profile

  • Motivation in your quit journey

  • Nicotine withdrawal symptoms

  • Action plan

  • Prescription for pharmacological aids covered by RAMQ (nicotine patches and gum)

  • Stress management

  • Practical, effective resources and tools

  • Referrals to other CLSC resources as needed
